Cookie Policy

Last updated: 10 June 2025

This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies the Homewell website uses, why we use them, and how you can manage your preferences. It applies to the website at homewellj.pro.

1. What are cookies

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They allow the site to remember certain information about your visit β€” for example, whether you have already acknowledged a notice β€” so you do not need to repeat actions on each page load.

Cookies are not executable files. They cannot carry viruses or install software. Their primary function is to hold small amounts of data in a way that can be read back by the website that set them.

2. How we use cookies

The Homewell website uses a small number of cookies and related browser technologies. Our use falls into two main purposes:

  • Keeping the site functioning as intended (essential cookies)
  • Understanding in broad, anonymised terms how pages are used, so we can improve our information and content over time (analytics cookies, set only with your consent)

We do not use cookies to build individual profiles, serve targeted advertising, or share your data with marketing networks.

3. Types of cookies we use

The table below summarises the cookies that may be set during a visit to our website.

Cookie / key Type Purpose Duration
cookieConsent Essential Stores your cookie consent preference so the banner does not reappear on subsequent visits Persistent (localStorage)
_ga Analytics Google Analytics β€” distinguishes unique visitors using a randomly generated identifier 2 years
_ga_* Analytics Google Analytics β€” maintains session state for a measurement ID 2 years
_fbp Analytics Meta Pixel β€” identifies browsers for analytics purposes (set only if analytics consent is given) 3 months

Analytics cookies are only set if you accept optional cookies. If you decline, only the cookieConsent preference record is stored in your browser's local storage.

4. Third-party cookies

When analytics consent is given, cookies may be set by the following third-party services:

  • Google Analytics β€” used to understand aggregate page traffic patterns. Data is processed by Google LLC in accordance with their privacy terms. No personally identifying information is passed.
  • Meta Pixel β€” used for aggregate reach analysis. Data is processed by Meta Platforms, Inc. in accordance with their data policy. No personally identifying information is passed by Homewell.
  • Microsoft Clarity / Bing Ads β€” may be used for aggregate performance reporting. Processed by Microsoft in accordance with their privacy statement.

Homewell does not control the cookies set by these third parties once consent has been given. Please refer to each provider's own privacy and cookie documentation for full details.

5. Local storage

In addition to cookies, we use your browser's local storage to hold your cookie preference. Local storage works similarly to cookies but the data is not sent to our server with each request β€” it simply stays in your browser until cleared.

The single local storage key we set is cookieConsent. It records whether you accepted or declined optional cookies, along with the timestamp and the version of the consent prompt you responded to. This record is what prevents the consent banner from reappearing on each visit.

You can clear this record at any time through your browser's developer tools or by using the preference panel below.

6. Your choices

You have several ways to manage cookie and local storage use on this site:

  • Consent banner β€” when you first visit the site, a banner at the bottom of the page offers you the choice to accept or decline optional cookies. Your choice is stored and respected on all future visits.
  • Preference panel β€” the panel in section 7 below allows you to change your decision at any time without leaving this page.
  • Browser settings β€” all modern browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Please refer to your browser's help documentation for instructions. Note that blocking essential cookies may affect how parts of the site behave.
  • Opt-out tools β€” Google provides a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics tracking at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

7. Manage your preferences

Use the panel below to review and update your cookie preferences for this site. Changes take effect immediately and are stored in your browser.

8. Retention

Essential local storage entries (your consent record) are retained until you clear them manually or use the preference panel above. Analytics cookies set by third parties are retained according to the schedules listed in section 3. We do not extend or reset those durations.

9. Policy changes

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. When we do, we revise the date at the top of this page. If changes affect how optional cookies are set, the consent banner will reappear on your next visit so you can review and reconfirm your preferences.

We encourage you to check this page periodically to stay informed about how cookies are used on our site.
